Hi, my name is Jay Macleod and I'm a Reiki Master/Teacher, as well as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. I live in a sleepy village, just outside Bath, with my wife and two children.

I have been teaching Reiki since 2004 and have taught over 200 people.

Reiki has brought peace and healing into my life and I feel very privileged to be able to help others learn this marvellous art.

My Reiki Training
Jay's best friend of many, many years led me to study Reiki. He had started using energy healing in his physiotherapy practice and was constantly telling me how wonderful it was. Having spent a number of years training in Kung Fu I knew that it took Chi Kung masters 20 to 30 years to be able to heal anyone with their own internal energy and I just didn't see how one could learn to do the same thing in a weekend.

After learning all three degrees of Reiki I spent a whole year in full-time Reiki mode. I carried out literally hundreds of treatments, all for free, just to find out if this thing was real or if it was just all in our minds. In the end I had to accept that something amazing was happening.

The effects of Reiki on me have also been amazing. I am so much more calm and centred. Nothing phases me anymore. I see the world in a completely new way and am enjoying every day. I feel I am finally on the right path on my own spiritual journey.

As a Reiki Practitioner
After the 'trial' year was over I set up my own Reiki Practice working from a local Doctors Surgery and from several rooms in and around Bath. I have had, and continues to have, very positive results with the following conditions: ME, MS, asthma, depression, stress, lack of energy, the common cold, headaches, blocked sinus, back pain, hip pain, knee injuries, broken wrist, sciatica, insomnia, nervousness, panic attacks, past events, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, joint pain, arthritis, stomach problems, and much more.

As a Reiki Teacher
I now run courses from my specially created training space in Neston, near Bath. this is set in a sleepy village, surrounded by beautiful countryside, which adds to the experience. For a list of B&B's close by please go to the Reiki Links page.

I believe in a simple, no-nonsense approach to Reiki, and as such I like the training days to be fun & informative and at the same time calm & supportive.

Ongoing Support
After the day is over it doesn't stop there. I don't want any of my students to feel isolated or confused, so they can call or email me at anytime if they have any concerns or questions. I send out a Reiju Empowerments on a weekly basis to each of my students, and they also get the chance to join a dedicated discussion group with over 1,000 Reiki members. I also run free monthly Reiki Share evenings at my home, where I get together and discusses Reiki with my students, and other Reiki people, and carry out Empowerments and distant healings.

Buddhist Studies
I have recently had direct teachings on Buddhism, where I received the initiation of Medicine Buddha bestowed on me by the Venerable Tulku Lama Rinchen Phuntsog Rinpoche on his first trip to the UK.

Venerable Lama Rinchen is one of the most qualified meditation masters and scholars of the Nyingma Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. He spends most of his time in Nepal compiling, organising and translating a library of sacred Tibetan Dharma texts in an attempt to preserve this sacred knowledge.

The Hypnotherapist
I have recently (2008) gained certification in Clinical Hypnotherapy and specialise in Stop Smoking and Weight Control, amongst other issues. If you'd like to know more about this please visit my Healing Suggestions web site.

Qualifications
I have a 1st Class Honours Degree in Computer Science, and am a Reiki Master/Teacher. I am a Registered Practitioner & Teacher Member of the Shibumi International Reiki Association, which is a non-profit professional international Reiki association. It's aims are to support and promote the Japanese art of the system of Reiki.

I have a Diploma in Feng Shui (certified by the Feng Shui Society) and have Complementary Medical Practitioner Insurance, plus an NHS Provider Number.

I am also an Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapist, with a Diploma in Clinical and Advanced Hypnotherapy certified by the National Council for Hypnotherapy, of which I am a member. I am also a member of the UK Hypnotherapy Association, the National Guild of Hypnotists and the American Alliance of Hypnotists. I'm UKCHO Registered (no.82708) and a Verified Practitioner, listed on the Hypnotherapy Register.
